What is LoRaWAN® ?
The LoRaWAN® protocol is a Low Power Wide Area Networking (LPWAN) communication protocol based on LoRa. LoRa is a wireless radio frequency technology that operates in a license-free radio frequency spectrum.
The big advantage of LoRa technology is its use of the ISM operating band: 868 MHz, 915 MHz and 923 MHz. These frequencies are much lower than the popular 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz, resulting in lower transmission losses and much better penetration through obstacles such as building walls or trees.

Small/Medium Sites
​Wireless solutions are ideal for small to medium-sized systems—typically with fewer than 50 meters. With technologies like LoRa-Sense, clients benefit from a true plug-and-play experience, enabling fast and easy deployment without specialist installation.

While it's always best to discuss the most suitable setup for your site, many clients simply provide the number and type of meters required. Elcomponent then delivers a pre-configured, fully documented system, ready for immediate installation.
